FAQ:
Who owns the information?
The person (patron) entering the information owns their information. It will only ever be shared with the Department of Health and Human Services in the event of the outbreak
What happens to the data longer term?
As per the Victorian Government requirements, we automatically delete all individual customer records after 28 days. In the meantime, the data resides in secure servers that are based in Australia.
Is there an option to ask for email addresses for further data collection?
Initially, we have gone with Name and Phone as this is the minimum requirement from the government, we have had establishments ask about an option post sign-up for customers to sign up to mailing lists, etc. and is something on our backlog, please let us know if this is something you are also interested in.
How does the business have access to the full information?
We currently expose check-in Date & Time, Name, and a partial view of the customer's phone number for quick and easy verification of check-in. You can view all those records via the private QR code or by logging into dine-safe. The Department of Health and Human Services will be contacting persons whom might have been in contact with a positive case and therefore won’t be providing unredacted phone numbers to establishments.
Can I use this to record the staff I have on shift?
Yes, that's the idea. Both staff and patrons are recorded.
Is there any way of storing a digital menu?
Yes, we have an option to link to an online menu. If you'd like to set this up please contact us at hello@dataventures.com.au
